Service Description

This 5-day group class teaches basic floating techniques with the goal of independent floating, jumping off the side, swim safety skills, introduction to treading water with a flotation device, and teaches the most basic swimming stroke, the glide, which will enable the child to swim back and forth in the shallow end of the pool. This stroke implements only a leg kick with no arm movement and is very simple to master.  (For the safety of all of our swimmers, swim diapers are required for all children who are not completely potty trained.) When selecting this class on our calendar, be sure to select the appropriate age range. This class also teaches the beginner front crawl (free style) and the back float.  We also work with the students on safely jumping off the side, swim safety skills, swimming underwater to retrieve objects off the bottom, and treading water.  This is a hybrid class that combines Jellyfish (LVL 2) and Trout (LVL3) skills.
